the clincher for me is his comment that he would have blown it by showing the faces; could be false modesty, but seems unlikely; now, of course, i wouldn't believe a word said about provenance of a "news" foto; why does B&W look so much better than anything else? historical resonance alone, or is there something inherently more pleasing to our eyes about B&W? like analog vs. digital sound?
